Where has time gone!

Two months is a long time to go without posting to my friends!
I have been keeping very, very busy with school these days. Last term, I made the President's list again with a 4.0 GPA. This term I am taking College Composition 2 and College Algebra. After 4 weeks, I still have 100% in both classes and am well on my way to the third term in a row of being on the President's list. I sound like I'm bragging, don't I? Well, let me tell you that it is because I have been told by so many people for so long that I will never amount to anything. The only ones that have not told me that are my parents and they have always been my biggest supporters! I have wanted to go back to school for the longest time and now that I am doing it, I am wondering why I didn't do it a long time ago.
Andrew and I celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary on August 8th. We did a lot of GoKarting that weekend and also went to the NASCAR Hall Of Fame in Charlotte, NC. We had a wonderful time and made some lasting memories.
Jordan and Jeena are now back in school. Jordan, although he won't admit it, is very happy to be back. He keeps telling me that it's a pain and that he hates school and blah blah blah. However, Mom knows better! He woke up the first day of school and he was so loud and so hyper because he was so excited and has come home from school everyday very loud and very hyper because he is having a great time! Jeena has always loved school and she is quite the social butterfly! She is so smart and always does such a wonderful job in school. I'm proud of both of them!
Alexys starts school on September, 14th. She is still going to be in Pre-School because she was born in December and missed the cut off. That's okay though. One more year of practice for her!
Andrew is working his tail off these days. He was working 60 hours a week at one point. However, he is down to about 45 now. He loves his job and the guy that he works for is great! We are very fortunate that he has the job that he does!
Everything else seems to be about the same. Just plugging along, living and loving life!

Time to catch up!

It seems I have been away for a while! I guess I should update this more often. However, I have been busy, busy, busy!

Let's begin with the kiddos! Jordan is a 7th grade graduate and will be going into the 8th grade next school year. He finished the 7th grade with straight A's! We couldn't be more proud of him.

Jeena has graduated the 5th grade and goes into Middle School next year. She finished the 5th grade with A's and B's. Since she has finished with elementary school (I'm getting old), she had an official 5th grade graduation where she was voted, by her classmates, as Most Likely To Succeed! How awesome is she! Not to mention that she is now 11! I'm telling you...I'm getting old!

Alexys completed her first year of Preschool. She learned so much, like how to write her name, he numbers, and all kinds of other stuff. She is such a smartie pants!

Andrew has been working A LOT these past few months. He is such a wonderful husband and Father and takes excellent care of his family. We are so lucky to have him!

I have started school and am absolutely loving it! It is all online and in 2 years (or a little less) I will have my Associates of Science in Medical Assisting! Last term, I managed to obtain a 4.0 GPA and made the Presidents List! I have since become a member of The National Society of Collegiate Scholars Honor Society! I cannot believe I am doing as well as I am. I am definate proof that hard work and dedication pay off!

We are happy to have summer here. Although it is VERY, VERY, VERY hot and humid, we are glad that the snow is over for now! Virginia gets very humid and that is something that I am not used to being from Colorado and California! Spring and Fall are my ideal seasons. They don't get hot, or cold, and the flowers are beautiful!

I promise not to stay away so long. Updates are always wonderful...especially when people have good news to share!

Thought you'd like to see these.

These are a couple of pictures that Andrew's aunt took on Christmas. I'm not sure when she sent them to me but I just saw them today. I think the one of the 5 of us with Alexys' arm around Jordan's neck, pretty much sums up our family!

Time to slow down for a minute!

This past few weeks have been busy in our lives. My second sister, Kathie, was admitted to the hospital on January 27th with bacterial meningitis. Her chances of survival at the time of being admitted were 50/50. My other sister, Suzie, and her husband, David, and their 2 kids, Katie and Mitchell, drove down to Fallon, Nevada to be with Kathie. She was so disoriented and confused and being very combative with the nurses and doctors that they had to sedate her and restrain her arms. She had quite the struggle and the hardest fight of her life. I am so happy to say that she is doing much better and is now living in Washington with Suzie and her family. During all of this, she also had a heart attack and thankfully, there was no damage done to her heart.
On February 3rd, Andrew and I flew to Reno to be with Kathie. I cannot tell you what that experience meant to me. To be there with my sister while she was fighting the battle of her life and to be able to help her walk out of that hospital, healthy and alive, was such an honor. Andrew and I just got back home on February 14th which also happened to be our 6 year anniversary.
Words cannot express how much I love my family and how grateful I am to have each and every one of them in my life. Coming this close to losing one of my family members has really made me re-evaluate my priorities. Not that my family didn't mean the world to me before. They just mean more to me now than ever before!
So...we are trying to get our lives back to normal. After being gone for 11 days and being away from my kiddos, we are still trying to get back into that "routine" we call life! Wish me luck!!!!

Happy New Year!

Well...I thought that since it's a new year, I would start it off with a new look. Andrew, my personal hair stylist, cut about 8 inches off my hair on New Years Day! I'm absolutely loving it. I know that one of my traits has always been my long hair. However, there is only so much that you can do with it when it get too long. So, short I went!

Jordan had the amazing opportunity to go to Washington DC with the youth on December 28th through December 30th to go to the Temple there and do Baptisms for the dead! He had an amazing time and the change that it has made in him is outstanding. He is still a big brother and picks on his little sisters quite a bit. However, the spirit that he has about him is absolutely noticeable! There is no describing how proud I am of him to be found worthy to go to the Temple and perform such an amazing ordinance! What a blessing!
